Oral History Project

The CENLA African American Oral History Project is an ongoing initiative to document and preserve African American stories through oral history. Oral histories are collected from residents of central Louisiana, who can provide insight into their lives as well as their perceptions of what it was like growing up/living in central Louisiana. Future plans for the project include the creation of a digital database with interview transcriptions, that will be available for research at the society research center, and a lecture series.
